FOR NEW YORK STATE MECHANIC LICENSING
**New RULES-READ BELOW**

The JATC is NOT RESPONSIBLE for a Member enrolling in a class that is not in accordance with the new Guidelines outlined below.
"After their first license renewals, students are expected to abide by DOL's rule to take their continuing education classes every 11-12 months from the date of their [License] renewal. Per NYSDOL, You must wait minimum 11 months until you can attend 2nd eight hour class.

BASED ON WHEN YOU ATTENDED CLASS LAST YEAR!
(Please log-in to your MPWR Account (click to enter website) and know the date you renewed your license. You are eligible for CE Class between 11 months and 12 months following your license renewal date. Read example below
For Example, if a student has been issued their renewal on December 15, 2025, they must take their first elevator continuing education class between November 15, 2026, and December 15, 2026. The second elevator continuing education class must be taken between November 15, 2027, and December 15, 2027, BEFORE they apply for their license renewal. DOL will not be sending out training or licensing reminders to the students, so it is their responsibility to track their classes and licenses."
**Members are responsible to ensure their own compliance. If you are denied renewal by NYSDOL based on the dates of your certificates, you may need to attend additional classes to be compliant.**

2025-2026 Class Dates:
An eight (8) hour class to be held on a Saturday. You can choose a first and second choice from available dates. All three required courses will be covered during one Saturday Session.
**Class Information**
All New York State licensed mechanics must complete 8 hours of continuing education each year
for Elevator Mechanic License renewal to be granted.
