The Joint Apprentice & Training Committee
The next Apprentice Meeting is Monday, February 2, 2026 at 6:00 PM in the Balcony Lounge at Local Union #3.
*A valid Local #3 Union Card is required at all times on school premises and at all Apprentice School functions.*
Fall Semester Class Night Changes/School Closures:
Tuesday Class Changes:
- There will be No class on Tuesday, Dec 23rd.
- There will be No class on Tuesday, Dec 30th. (Next class Jan 6th)
Thursday Class Changes:
- There will be NO class on Thursday, Dec 25th.
- There will be NO class on Thursday, Jan 1st. (Next Class Jan 8th)
Final Exams:
- Fall Semester Final Exams will take place Tuesday, January 13, 2026.
- Exams will take place in the Auditorium of Local Union #3, 158-11 Harry Van Arsdale Jr. Ave.
- Test starts promptly at 5:30 PM. DO NOT BE LATE.
- All Apprentices must bring their valid Local #3 Union Card and pen. Any student who does not have their valid Union card will not be admitted.
- Monthly On-the-Jobs Reports must be current to be eligible for the Final Exam. Any Apprentice who is Delinquent will be denied an exam, earn a "0" for the exam, and must repeat the class.
- All cell phones, smart watches, and/or earphones must be secured in a bookbag or pocket. If any electronic device is visible during test time, your exam will be confiscated, earn a "0" on the exam and fail the semester.
- Any Apprentice who is caught cheating by any method will have their exam test taken, earn a "0" on the exam and fail the semester.
- No sunglasses, hoods or hats are to be worn inside the test site.
- Once Final Exams start, there will be no bathroom breaks. Please arrive early so you have ample time to use bathroom facilities prior to start of the exam. Any Apprentice who has medical needs, must provide documentation to the Director prior to Final Exam Day, and an alternate test site, test date and exam will be offered.
- Any exit of the auditorium is final. Once an Apprentice leaves, there is no re-admittance to the test site.
- Instructors and staff will actively monitor students during the exam.
BOOK Return:
- Book Return will be held on Tuesday, January 20th and Thursday, January 22nd
at the JEO Office, 3540 36th St., LIC between 5:30pm and 7:00pm.
- An Apprentice may attend either night.
- Any Apprentice who fails to return their book(s) will be responsible for the cost of the book(s).
- An Apprentice will not be eligible for Spring 2026 Registration unless Book(s) returned on Book Return Night, or monies paid for the cost of the books.

- $40 Money Order, Payable to: "J. A. T. C."
- Photo I.D. (Driver's License Preferred)
- Valid Union Card, valid temporary Union Card or non-expired yellow Local 3 issued receipt - NO DEC 2025 Cards. Please visit the Maintenance Dept at the Union Hall and request a temporary Union Card in advance of Registration.
- Copy Latest Pay Stub - on paper (DEC 2025-JAN 2026)
**On-the-Job Reports must be current to be eligible to register.
**Books must be returned from the prior semester to be eligible to register.
