The Joint Apprentice & Training Committee

The next Apprentice Meeting is Monday, June 1, 2026 at 6:00 PM in the Balcony Lounge at Local Union #3.

*A valid Local #3 Union Card is required at all times on school premises and at all Apprentice School functions.*


Spring 2026 Semester Class Night Changes/School Closures:

Thursday Class Changes:

  • There will be no class June 4th. Class will be held Wednesday, June 3rd.

Mandatory Safety Seminars:

  • ​Safety Seminars are held in the Auditorium of Local Union #3.
  • Seminar starts promptly at 5:30. Do not be late. 
  • Bring a pen or pencil with you.
  • All Apprentices are required to have their valid Local Union #3 Union Card with them.

Tuesday Students:attend Wed, April 29, 2026.

Thursday Students: attend Wed, May 13, 2026.


Final Exams:

Spring 2026 Final Exams are Tuesday, June 9th.

Place:  Auditorium, Local Union #3, 158-11 Harry Van Arsdale Jr. Ave, Flushing

Time:  5:30pm sharp.  DO NOT BE LATE.

​Bring: Valid, Local Union #3 Card and pen or pencil to take exam.

Please note: Monthly On-the-Job Reports must be current to be eligible for exams. Any Apprentice who is classified as delinquent in submitting their OTJR's will not be admitted, will earn a  "0" on the exam,  fail the semester and will need to repeat the course. No Exceptions.

  • Apprentices are assigned a table number that has your test. See your instructor for your table number.  
  • ALL electronic devices must be turned off and placed out of sight in either a bookbag or pocket. No smart watches or headphones are allowed.
  • ​No hats, hoods, or sunglasses to be worn.
  • Ensure personal matters are attended to prior to start of exam. There will be no bathroom breaks. If you have a medical need, you must provide the Director with documentation prior to the Final Exam, and an alternate test site, date and exam will be offered.
  • No Apprentice may exit and re-enter the test site once exams have begun. All exits are FINAL.
  • Cheating of any kind will not be tolerated.
  • Any apprentice suspected of violating the above rules will have their test taken, earn a zero for the exam and fail the semester.
  • Instructors and staff will actively monitor students during the exam.

BOOK RETURN:

  • Monday, June 15th and Tuesday, June 16th
  • 5:30 pm until 7:00pm at the JEO Office, 3540 36th St., LIC.
  • Books must be returned or cost of lost books remitted to be eligible for Fall Registration.
  • Graduate students who fail to return their books from Repair, Conversion or Maintenance classes will not receive Certificates of Completion until books are received by the JATC.

              1st & 2nd Year APPRs - 6:00 - 7:00 P.M.

BRING:    

  1. $40 Money Order, Payable to:  "J. A. T. C."
  2. Photo I.D. (Driver's License Preferred)
  3. Valid Union Card, valid temporary Union Card or non-expired yellow Local 3 issued receipt - NO JUN 2026 Cards. Please visit the Maintenance Dept at the Union Hall and request a temporary Union Card in advance of Registration.
  4. Copy Latest Pay Stub - on paper (Jul 2026-Aug 2026)


**On-the-Job Reports must be current to be eligible to register.

**Books must be returned from the prior semester to be eligible to register.
