The Joint Apprentice & Training Committee

The next Apprentice Meeting will be June 2, 2025 at 6:00 PM in the Balcony Lounge at Local Union #3.


*A valid Local #3 Union Card is required at all times on school premises and at all Apprentice School functions.*


Class Changes:

  • Thursday Students: Will have class on Monday, May 19th. Thursday students attend school twice in one week  (Mon 5/19 and Thu 5/22).
  • There will be no class on Thursday,  June 5th. Class will be held Wednesday, June 4th(School Closure)

​​Final Exams:

  • For All Students: Tuesday, June 10th
  • Start time: 5:30 PM- Please do not be Late!
  • Place: Auditorium at Local Union #3, 158-11 Harry Van Arsdale Jr Ave., Flushing.
  • All students MUST bring their VALID Local Union 3 Union Card with them. Any student who does not bring their valid Local Union 3 card will not be admitted.
  • All students must bring a pen or pencil.
  • Monthly On-the-Job Reports must be current to be eligible for Final Exam.  Any Apprentice who is ineligible for Final Exams, will earn a zero "0" on the test, fail the course and repeat the class.

​Effective Spring 2025 Semester, the following regulations will be enforced during Final Exams:

  • All cell phones, smart watches and/or earphones must be securely put in a bookbag or pocket. If any electronic device is visible during test time, your exam will be confiscated, earn a "0" on the exam and fail the semester.
  • Any Apprentice who is caught cheating by any method will have their test taken, earn a "0" on the exam and fail the semester.
  • No sunglasses, hoods or hats are to be worn inside the test site.
  • Once Final Exams start, there will be no bathroom breaks.  Please arrive early so you have ample time to use bathroom facilities prior to the start of the exam.  Any Apprentice who has medical needs, must provide the Director with documentation prior to the Final Exam, and an alternate test site, test date and exam will be offered.
  • Any exit of the auditorium is final.  Once an Apprentice leaves, there is no re-admittance to the test site.
  • Instructors and staff will actively monitor students during the exam.

Book Return:

All students (except Solid State Classes) must return there textbooks on either of the following evenings:

  • Monday, June 16th from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm  OR
  • Tuesday, June 17th from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm

Mandatory Registration for the Fall 2025 semester will be held on:

              1st & 2nd Year APPRs - 6:00 - 7:00 P.M.

BRING:    

  1. $40 Money Order, Payable to:  "J. A. T. C."
  2. Photo I.D. (Driver's License Preferred)
  3. Valid Union Card, valid temporary Union Card or non-expired yellow Local 3 issued receipt - NO June 2025 Cards. Please visit the Maintenance Dept at the Union Hall and request a temporary Union Card in advance of Registration.
  4. Copy Latest Pay Stub - on paper (Jul 2025-Aug 2025)


**On-the-Job Reports must be current to be eligible to register.

**Books must be returned from the prior semester to be eligible to register.


REGISTRATION WILL END PROMPTLY AT 7:00 P.M. - PLEASE DO NOT BE LATE.

The 1st day of class at Queens Technical HS is as follows:
Tuesday Classes begin Tuesday, September 9th, 2025 at 5:30 P.M. 

Thursday Classes begin Thursday, September 11th, 2025 at 5:30 P.M.
